Top Rung Brewing Company is saving lives and running races while we sit here making beer apps.



Two beer-loving firefighters founded Top Rung 12 years ago in Lacey Washington. And since then, every year, Top Rung has hosted an inspiring memorial 5K to honor 9/11 first responders. Registration gets you a charitable donation, an event shirt, and a $2 beer (or soda for the kids).

This year, Top Rung decided to run the entire event through their custom app, handling everything from shirt sizes and release waivers to contact permissions and runner stories right at sign-up. Race-day perks and live updates were seamlessly delivered via push notifications.

We couldn’t be prouder to play a tiny part in such an incredible community event. Cheers to the heroes at Top Rung! Now back to our desk jobs.

Shout out to the 80 breweries who signed up to join us for our first TapWyse Digital Happy Hour! It was great to see so many of you sharing ideas, asking thoughtful questions, and learning from one another.

Odell runs their wine and beer clubs through their app, but they didn't stop there. Their Co-Worker Bevvies program is a totally unique and brilliant membership for staff only! Here's how it works…

Within the Odell app, there is an "invite-only" membership hidden to the general public. Staff members can join the program (for free) to get their daily drink rewards directly in the app. Employees redeem their rewards, just like loyal customers. Reporting is easy and automatic!

Running an employee perk program through your app does a few things: It moves away from informal "free shift drinks" and creates a structured, measurable program. Plus when your team uses the app for their own perks, they become experts at showing customers how to use it too.
